Sean Murphy serves as the Executive Director, General Counsel, and registered lobbyist for the Arizona Dental Association (AzDA) in Scottsdale, Arizona. Sean leads the AzDA team to assist Arizona’s dental professionals, works with the Board of Trustees and departments, oversees regulatory and legislative priorities, contributes to their publications, and manages legal issues. Prior to AzDA, Sean served as Vice President of Advocacy and General Counsel for the American Association of Orthodontists. In 2018, he was selected by Association TRENDS as a leading lobbyist for the Salute to Association Excellence and also received a statewide In-House Counsel Award for Missouri in 2019. Before the AAO, Sean was a business litigator for seven years at a national law firm, Thompson Coburn, where he defended countless companies in various disputes. As a litigator, Sean was selected to the 2014 and 2015 Missouri & Kansas Super Lawyers' Rising Stars Lists.
